First High-Efficiency Air Station for a Coal Mine in Henan
Project Background
Coal Mine Industry Henan faced significant challenges in ensuring safety, efficiency, and sustainability. The primary goal was to establish a comprehensive and efficient system to manage and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring both safety and productivity. Additionally, the mine needed to address the issue of providing hot water for workers and heating during winter months, while also aiming to reduce energy consumption and costs.
Solution
Equipment: SIND SILVERLUBE-VPM series PM VSD screw compressors
SIND designed and installed a Grade-1 energy-efficient air compressor station for Coal Mine Industry Henan. The station includes three SIND air compressors, with two water-cooled and one air-cooled units. The cooling water uses reverse osmosis purified water, with a reverse osmosis treatment capacity of 12 tons per hour. The compressors consist of one centrifugal and two screw models, with a total installed power of 1,196 kW and a rated air pressure of 0.8 MPa. Additionally, a system was built to recover the residual heat from the air compressors, which was completed in May 2024 and is now operational.
Results
The air compressor station has achieved a significant reduction in energy consumption. The recovered heat from the air compressors is equivalent to approximately 1.3 million kWh of electricity annually, which is used to provide hot water for workers and heating for offices. This system saves approximately US$5,800 (CN¥40,000) in electricity costs annually compared to using electric water heaters and electric heaters. Additionally, the remaining heat during winter is used to prevent freezing in the mine shaft, saving approximately US$35,000 (CN¥250,000) in electricity costs annually. The station also features an intelligent monitoring system, including video surveillance, real-time flow, power efficiency, electricity consumption per unit, air compressor operation status, energy efficiency intelligent analysis unit, and automatic operation low-energy air compressor control unit. The station was certified as meeting the standards for a Grade-1 energy-efficient air compressor station by the Hefei General Machinery Product Testing Institute in July 2024.
