Technology

Technology Platform

SE-020 uses the StationPack SE enclosed-station platform. Multiple compression elements, treatment train, storage volume, common control and common cooling-air circuit in one weatherproof enclosure. The enclosure panels keep weather out and sound in, but also keep heat in — so intake and hot-air escape are designed as one thermal circuit.

Why Enclosed Station?

Enclosed station applies where the installation environment is unsheltered or demanding:

Key Design Decision: Thermal Circuit

The enclosure is part of the thermal design. Intake air must enter the enclosure in a controlled path, absorb heat from the compression and treatment equipment, and escape without recirculation. Poor thermal design raises internal ambient, reduces compressor delivery and shortens element life. SE stations are designed with intake louvres, internal baffles and exhaust louvres as one circuit.

More technical detail

Why Enclosed Station?

  • Outdoor installation — no plant room required; the enclosure provides weather protection.
  • Noise-sensitive boundary — the enclosure attenuates sound, reducing the need for a separate compressor room.
  • Dusty or salty environment — the enclosure protects internal components from ingress.
  • Temporary or relocatable duty — the station can be moved as the site evolves.

Integration and Control

The station arrives as one item with one set of test records. One control system sequences the machines and holds one narrow pressure band at the header, instead of each machine hunting on its own switch. The treatment train is sized against what the compressor delivers at the site’s pressure and ambient, not against a nameplate peak flow.

Selection & quote checklist

  1. Outdoor installation — No plant room available
  2. Noise-sensitive boundary — Enclosure attenuation required
  3. Dusty or salty environment — Component protection needed
  4. the exact model and configuration
  5. required operating pressure and flow
  6. electrical supply (voltage, frequency, phase)

Applications

Outdoor Construction Site

A construction site requires compressed air but has no plant room. SE-020 provides an enclosed station that can be positioned outdoors, weatherproof and ready for connection.

Noise-Sensitive Urban Site

An urban manufacturing site is near a residential area with noise limits.

Temporary Installation

A temporary site requires compressed air for a limited duration. SE-020 can be relocated as the site evolves, providing a complete station with minimal installation work.

Target Industries and Markets

SE-020 is specified where an enclosed compressor station is required:

  • Outdoor sites — construction, mining, temporary installations with no plant room.
  • Noise-sensitive locations — urban sites, sites near residential areas.
  • Dusty or salty environments — quarries, coastal installations, desert sites.
  • Temporary or relocatable duty — rental fleets, sites that move.

How This Compares with Site-Assembled Stations

The point of StationPack SE is the boundary. Everything a buyer would otherwise assemble on site arrives as one item with one set of test records. One control system sequences the machines and holds one narrow pressure band at the header. The treatment train is sized against what the compressor delivers at the site’s pressure and ambient, not against a nameplate peak flow. The enclosure is part of the thermal design, not an afterthought.

Specifications vary by configuration; confirm with the datasheet. Dimensions and weights are indicative; request the installation drawing for the specific model before designing foundations or access routes.

Reference data

  1. Outdoor installation — No plant room available
  2. Noise-sensitive boundary — Enclosure attenuation required
  3. Dusty or salty environment — Component protection needed
  4. the exact model and configuration
  5. required operating pressure and flow
  6. electrical supply (voltage, frequency, phase)
  7. the current datasheet and package contents
  1. SE-020 or SN (open skid)?

SE-020 enclosed for outdoor, noisy or dusty environments. SN open skid for a sheltered plant room with existing ventilation and access.

  2. What is inside?

Compressor(s), drive(s), cooling, aftercooler, separator and drain, storage volume, drying and filtration, control and protection, weatherproof enclosure, internal pipework and wiring. Exact scope is confirmed per order.

  3. Installation?

Foundations, power, cooling air circuit for enclosed packages, header and condensate connections. Drawings are available on request.

  4. Is 60 Hz available?

50 Hz standard. 60 Hz configuration on request — confirm voltage, frequency and phase with your SIND representative before order.

Sizing & selection notes

  • Match free air delivery to measured demand, with room for future production lines.
  • Set working pressure at the point of use, including pressure drop across filters and dryers.
  • Define the dryness and filtration you actually need, not the highest class by default.
  • Weigh lubricated against oil-free, and fixed against variable speed, for your load profile.
  • Allow for ambient temperature, altitude, ventilation and duty cycle, which cut usable capacity.
