5 bar Low-Pressure Screw Compressors Matched to a Textile Mill in Fujian
Project Background
Textile production relies heavily on compressed air at every stage. Air-jet looms, spinning machinery, pneumatic actuators, automated controls and auxiliary equipment all need a continuous, stable supply. Much of this demand, however, is at 3–5 bar, not the 7–8 bar that standard industrial compressors deliver.
Many mills still produce air at 7–8 bar and then reduce it to the pressure they need. Every bar of unnecessary compression costs energy. For a textile mill in Fujian with continuous, high-volume air demand, that mismatch had become a significant and avoidable cost.
Solution
Equipment: SIND SILVERLUBE-VPM low-pressure series screw compressors, 5 bar (or the DUALLUBE two-stage series)
The mill installed a complete system of SIND low-pressure screw compressors running at 5 bar, selected to match textile production on three points:
- Precise low-pressure matching. A dedicated low-pressure airend is optimised for 3–5 bar duty, with rotor profile, compression ratio and running clearances designed for that range. The compressors deliver the production pressure directly, with no high-pressure generation followed by pressure reduction.
- Stable operation. Mature screw technology and a well-matched airend and drive system support long-term continuous running, and every unit is factory-tested before shipment.
- Easy maintenance. A straightforward, proven design keeps daily inspection and routine servicing simple.
Results
5 bar supply delivered directly to the production processes.
25–40% expected energy saving compared with conventional 7–8 bar machines used with pressure reduction.
Stable, continuous air for spinning, weaving and downstream processing.
Simple maintenance and long-term reliability.
