Clean, Dry Air for a Dental Products Manufacturer
Project Background
Dental products are manufactured to very tight tolerances. In grinding, implant machining and denture processing, compressed air drives tools and blows off workpieces, so it must be clean, dry and at stable pressure. Moisture, oil aerosols or particles can damage surfaces and reduce yield.
The client, an established dental products manufacturer, was running conventional compressors with three problems:
- high energy consumption;
- high noise in the production area;
- difficulty keeping air quality consistent.
These problems raised operating costs and created product-quality risk. Early in 2025 the company began looking for a better compressed-air solution.
Solution
Equipment: SIND SILVERLUBE-VPM series PM variable-speed screw compressor, 75 kW; SIND ChillDry CD series refrigerated dryer; air receiver; three-stage SIND PurePart PF filtration
The workshop load and the air-consumption pattern of the equipment were assessed. The plant then installed a complete supply train:
- Compression: a 75 kW SIND SILVERLUBE-VPM series permanent-magnet variable-speed screw compressor. Speed follows actual demand, which avoids unload running and frequent start-stop cycles, while keeping output pressure stable and noise low.
- Drying: a SIND ChillDry CD series refrigerated dryer to remove moisture before the air reaches the grinding workshop.
- Storage: an air receiver to buffer demand peaks.
- Filtration: three-stage SIND PurePart PF precision filtration to remove particles and oil aerosols.
The compressor’s PLC touch-screen controller supports remote monitoring and real-time data, which simplifies routine maintenance.
Results
- 15–30% expected reduction in annual electricity cost compared with the previous fixed-speed compressors.
- Drier, cleaner and more stable air for precision grinding and machining.
- Fewer equipment failures in the grinding workshop, and improved product yield.
- Quieter operation and easier maintenance, with remote monitoring.
