75 kW Variable-Speed Compressor for a Technology Manufacturer in Hebei

20–35%Energy saving
75 kWPower
10%Noise reduction

Project Background

On a technology company’s production line, compressed air is an invisible but essential utility. Air quality and pressure stability directly affect equipment efficiency and product quality. If pressure fluctuates or supply falls short, output suffers, energy use stays high, maintenance becomes more frequent and safety can be affected.

A technology manufacturer in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, was using fixed-speed compressors that ran at full speed once started, even when the line was lightly loaded. This wasted energy during low-demand periods. The plant also wanted quieter equipment, since the compressor stands in the middle of the production area, and better visibility of equipment condition.

Solution

Equipment: The plant commissioned a 75 kW SIND SILVERLUBE-VPM series permanent-magnet variable-speed screw compressor:

  • Demand-following speed control. At high demand the compressor runs at full capacity and holds pressure; at low load it slows down automatically. This avoids unload running and frequent start-stop cycles.
  • Low-speed, large-rotor airend. Lower rotor speed means less mechanical wear, quieter running and a longer service life. The design tolerates high temperature and humidity.
  • Large-airflow cooling with low-noise fans. These keep the machine cool and quiet during long, continuous operation. On-site measurements showed noise more than 10% lower than comparable machines of similar power, so no extra soundproofing was needed.
  • 24-hour condition monitoring. The controller continuously records temperature, pressure, current and air flow. It raises a warning when a parameter goes out of range and schedules maintenance by operating hours and load.

Results

Stable network pressure and smoother line operation, with fewer equipment start-stops.

20–35% expected annual energy saving compared with fixed-speed operation, already visible on the electricity bill.

More than 10% lower noise than comparable machines, measured in the production area.

Early fault warnings and condition-based maintenance, reducing manual inspections.
