75 kW Two-Stage VFD Compressor for an Auto Parts Plant in Zhejiang
Project Background
The client is an auto parts manufacturer in Zhejiang Province that supplies components to domestic and international vehicle brands. Growth in the automotive sector, especially new-energy vehicles, had pushed up its production volumes, and compressed-air demand rose with them.
The existing compressor system could no longer meet that demand. It also had two persistent weaknesses: high energy consumption and frequent maintenance stops. Because compressed air drives tools, actuators and test equipment across the whole factory, these problems affected both output and running costs. The plant decided to replace the old system with a single high-efficiency machine sized for current and future demand.
Solution
Equipment: SIND DUALLUBE-VPM series two-stage PM variable-speed screw compressor, 75 kW
- Two-stage compression. Splitting compression between two rotor stages, with interstage cooling, lowers the specific power compared with single-stage machines at the same pressure.
- Permanent-magnet variable-speed drive. The motor speed follows actual air demand, which avoids the unload losses and frequent start-stop cycles of fixed-speed machines.
- Low noise. The enclosed design keeps noise in the production area low.
- Controller with remote monitoring. The controller provides fault warnings and remote operation, so no dedicated operator is needed at the compressor.
- Robust components. These are designed for long-term, continuous duty.
Results
The DUALLUBE-VPM compressor now acts as the main air source for the entire factory:
- 75 kW two-stage PM VSD unit replaces the previous, less efficient compressors.
- Up to 35% energy saving expected versus the previous system, from two-stage compression and speed control.
- Stable supply pressure for production and testing equipment, supporting consistent product quality.
- Fewer maintenance interruptions and remote status monitoring.
For a parts supplier working to tight delivery schedules, a stable and efficient air supply directly supports both throughput and cost control.
