Technology

Technology Platform

StationPack SN-H2 uses the same core technology as the StationPack SN open-skid station family: oil-injected rotary screw compression, integrated drive, aftercooler, separator and drain, storage volume, optional drying and filtration, station sequencer and common control, all factory-piped and tested on one open baseframe. The horizontal configuration arranges these components in a low-profile layout for installations where vertical envelope is constrained.

Why Horizontal Configuration?

Horizontal layout addresses three installation constraints:

Key Design Decision: Open Skid

StationPack SN-H2 is an open skid, not an enclosed station. Open skid applies where the installation environment is sheltered: a plant room with existing ventilation, access and weather protection. Where the station sits outdoors, in a noisy bay, or in a dusty or salty environment, the enclosed StationPack SE series is the correct choice.

More technical detail

Why Horizontal Configuration?

  • Height restriction — where the station must fit under a mezzanine, low ceiling or existing pipework, horizontal arrangement reduces the vertical envelope.
  • Access and maintenance — horizontal layout places all service points at working height, reducing the need for ladders or overhead access.
  • Transport and rigging — lower center of gravity simplifies transport, positioning and anchoring.

Integration and Control

The station arrives as one item with one set of test records. One control system sequences the machines and holds one narrow pressure band at the header, instead of each machine hunting on its own switch. The treatment train is sized against what the compressor delivers at the site’s pressure and ambient, not against a nameplate peak flow.

Selection & quote checklist

  1. Height restriction — Low ceiling or mezzanine above
  2. Larger flow requirement — Higher flow than SN-H1 at same horizontal footprint
  3. Sheltered environment — Plant room with ventilation and access
  4. the exact model and configuration
  5. required operating pressure and flow
  6. electrical supply (voltage, frequency, phase)

Applications

Workshop with Low Ceiling

An existing workshop with a low ceiling requires additional compressed air capacity at higher flow. Vertical envelope is constrained by existing structure.

Mezzanine Installation

A manufacturing facility has installed a mezzanine for additional work space. The compressor station must be positioned below the mezzanine, where vertical clearance is limited.

Retrofit and Expansion

An existing plant room has height restriction from overhead pipework and structure. Adding capacity at higher flow requires a station that fits within the available envelope.

Target Industries and Markets

StationPack SN-H2 is specified where an integrated compressor station is required at larger flow but vertical envelope is constrained:

  • Workshops with low ceilings — existing buildings where the compressor must fit under existing structure.
  • Mezzanine installations — where the station sits below elevated work platforms.
  • Retrofit and expansion — adding capacity to existing plant rooms with height constraints.
  • Indoor installations — where weather protection exists but floor space is available.

How This Compares with Site-Assembled Stations

The point of StationPack is the boundary. Everything a buyer would otherwise assemble on site arrives as one item with one set of test records. One control system sequences the machines and holds one narrow pressure band at the header. The treatment train is sized against what the compressor delivers at the site’s pressure and ambient, not against a nameplate peak flow. Site-assembled stations carry the risk of mismatched components, multiple vendors and no single-point responsibility.

Specifications vary by configuration; confirm with the datasheet. Dimensions and weights are indicative; request the installation drawing for the specific model before designing foundations or access routes.

Reference data

Full specification and reference tables
  1. Height restriction — Low ceiling or mezzanine above
  2. Larger flow requirement — Higher flow than SN-H1 at same horizontal footprint
  3. Sheltered environment — Plant room with ventilation and access
  4. the exact model and configuration
  5. required operating pressure and flow
  6. electrical supply (voltage, frequency, phase)
  7. the current datasheet and package contents
  1. SN-H1 or SN-H2?

Both are horizontal open skid. SN-H2 provides higher flow at the same horizontal footprint concept. Confirm the flow step with SIND against your actual duty.

  2. SN-H2 or SN-V (vertical)?

SN-H2 horizontal for height restriction, mezzanine or low ceiling. SN-V vertical where vertical envelope is available and floor footprint must be minimised.

  3. SN-H2 or SE (enclosed)?

SN-H2 open skid for a sheltered plant room with existing ventilation and access. SE enclosed for outdoor, noisy or dusty environments.

  4. What is inside?

Compressor, drive, cooling, aftercooler, separator and drain, storage volume, optional drying and filtration, control and protection, open baseframe, internal pipework and wiring. Exact scope is confirmed per order.

  5. Is 60 Hz available?

50 Hz standard. 60 Hz configuration on request — confirm voltage, frequency and phase with your SIND representative before order.

Sizing & selection notes

  • Match free air delivery to measured demand, with room for future production lines.
  • Set working pressure at the point of use, including pressure drop across filters and dryers.
  • Define the dryness and filtration you actually need, not the highest class by default.
  • Weigh lubricated against oil-free, and fixed against variable speed, for your load profile.
  • Allow for ambient temperature, altitude, ventilation and duty cycle, which cut usable capacity.
