High-Efficiency Compressed Air System Upgrade for Textile Manufacturing | SIND

SIND upgraded textile compressed air systems across China and Southeast Asia, replacing 10 centrifugal and more than 180 screw compressors.
SIND compressed air system upgrade for textile manufacturing

Project Overview

SIND implemented a comprehensive compressed air system upgrade across textile manufacturing facilities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, China, and multiple Southeast Asian markets. The project focused on modernizing existing compressed air infrastructure by replacing 10 aging and inefficient centrifugal compressors and more than 180 conventional screw compressors with SIND’s high-efficiency compressed air solutions.

The upgrade was designed to address the demanding requirements of continuous-duty textile production, delivering improved energy efficiency, greater system reliability, stable air supply, and enhanced overall operational performance across a geographically distributed manufacturing network. By optimizing compressor selection and system performance according to the specific operating requirements of each facility, the project achieved significant reductions in energy consumption while supporting stable and uninterrupted production.

Core Equipment Upgrade

Two compressor technologies formed the foundation of the upgrade, with each solution selected according to the specific operating requirements of textile manufacturing:

Equipment Application in Textile Manufacturing Key Benefits
Centrifugal Compressors High-volume, stable-pressure compressed air for continuous weaving and production lines 9.2% higher efficiency compared with traditional imported models; stable performance under high-demand operating conditions
Screw Compressors Continuous-duty compressed air for workshops and auxiliary production processes Excellent operational stability, reliable continuous operation, and low-noise performance suitable for textile manufacturing environments

The centrifugal compressor systems provide stable pressure and high-volume airflow during demanding continuous production cycles, while the screw compressor systems deliver reliable and flexible compressed air for workshop and auxiliary applications with reduced operating noise. Together, these technologies provide a reliable, efficient, and application-specific compressed air infrastructure that supports uninterrupted textile production and long-term energy savings.

FAQ

Which facilities did this project cover?

The upgrade covered textile manufacturing facilities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces in China and multiple sites across Southeast Asia. Across this distributed production network, SIND replaced 10 aging centrifugal compressors and more than 180 conventional screw compressors.

Why were two different compressor technologies used?

Textile production runs continuously, but air demand is not the same everywhere in the plant. High-volume centrifugal compressors serve the continuous weaving and production lines where stable pressure matters most, while screw compressors supply workshops and auxiliary processes. Equipment was selected according to the specific operating requirements of each facility rather than a single plant-wide standard.

How much more efficient are the new centrifugal compressors?

The centrifugal compressor systems deliver 9.2% higher efficiency compared with the traditional imported models they replaced, and they hold stable performance under high-demand, continuous operating conditions.

What changed for day-to-day production?

Each facility received equipment selected for its specific duty, so the plants gained improved energy efficiency, a more stable air supply, and greater system reliability for uninterrupted, continuous-duty textile production. Low-noise screw compressor operation also suits workshop environments.
